Tips for Driving During the Winter

Winter weather can cause dangerous driving condition, but there are many preventative measures you can take to keep yourself and others safe on the road.
Before heading on your way, always let your vehicle warm up. All snow and ice should be removed so vision is not impaired. New wiper blades are never a bad idea, as they too can diminish vision if worn down and not working properly. The gas tank should always be kept full so you are not left stranded. Be sure your tires are properly inflated with good tread depth. Never use cruise control while snow or ice are present. Lastly, an emergency kit can be lifesaving. Some items your kit should include are a flashlight, extra jacket, blanket, phone charger, small shovel, hat, boots, and gloves.
