VII. Sales Behind the Scenes-Title Work

After you leave the finance office with the keys to your new vehicle, all of the paperwork you just signed is next sent to the office for processing. When it is received by the title clerk, it is double checked for accuracy, as correct information helps with timely processing later on. Next, the title and accompanying paperwork are filled out and completed by the title clerk, and the final registration and titling fees are figured. Once the titling paperwork has been completed, fees figured, copies made and the final title packet assembled, it is then ready to be sent to the county treasurer's office to be processed by them.
Once the treasurer's office has completed their paperwork, and they have transferred the vehicle into your name, they then send the new registration and plates directly to you. Now, the process is complete, and the new vehicle is yours!
